Content Usage Rules

Definitions

+ In these Content Usage Rules, "IFPI Global Music Report 2024" refers to the IFPI Global Music Report published on 21st March 2024 which covers the recorded music industry in calendar year 2023.

+ The "State of the Industry Section" means the section of the IFPI Global Music Report entitled "Global Music Report 2024 – State of the Industry".

+ "Premium Content" means any content contained in the "Data and Analysis" section of the IFPI Global Music Report 2024, the Excel spreadsheet file named "IFPI_Global_Music_Report_2024-Global-Data", or the PowerPoint slides named "IFPI_Global_Music_Report_2024-Global-Analysis".

+ "IFPI Global Music Report 2024" means the complete IFPI Global Music Report published in March 2024 comprising the State of the Industry Section and the Premium Content.

Usage Rules

External Use of Premium Content in any document report, presentation or publication outside your organisation, including limited audience reports, derivative works, and services (e.g. databases and dashboards)

If you wish to use any Premium Content in any document report, presentation or publication outside your organisation, including limited audience reports, derivative works, and services (e.g. databases and dashboards) then, in addition to purchasing the IFPI Global Music Report 2024, you must purchase an IFPI Global Music Report 2024 Premium Content External Use Licence for which a fee of £25,000 excluding VAT is payable. Internal Use of the IFPI Global Music Report 2024 generally

If you have been allocated a username and password for the IFPI Global Music Report 2024 you may access the materials contained in the relevant Package for internal use within your organisation. You may make temporary local electronic copies of the materials by saving the materials to the hard disk of a computer owned by you or your organisation, and/or placing a copy of the materials on your Organisation's intranet, electronic library system or similar information system, provided that in each case access is restricted to users within your Organisation only. You may not share your access with anyone outside your Organisation.

Internal Use of Excerpts of the IFPI Global Music Report 2024 in any document, report, presentation or publication inside your organisation

External Use of Excerpts of the State of the Industry Section in any document report, presentation or publication outside your organisation, including limited audience reports

  • No approval or permission required from IFPI/RITCO provided these Content Usage Rules are adhered to.
  • All excerpts must appear accurately with all relevant context.
  • The IFPI Global Music Report 2024 or the Premium Content or any references to them may not be used to endorse a vendor, product, service, or company.
  • Graphics or tables from the IFPI Global Music Report 2024 must be shown in their entirety without any changes to the graphic or table.
  • The following disclaimer must be included where the excerpt appears, in a format that can be readily viewed by the reader: "All statements in this [document/report/presentation/publication] attributable to IFPI represent [Enter Your Organisation Name]’s interpretation of data, research opinion or viewpoints published as part of the IFPI Global Music Report in March 2024, and have not been reviewed by IFPI. Each IFPI publication speaks as of its original publication date (and not as of the date of this [document/report/presentation/publication])."
  • You may not use the IFPI logo without separate express written permission from IFPI.
  • You may not reproduce any advertising contained in the IFPI Global Music Report 2024.
  • You may not reproduce any photographic images of recording artists or record cover artwork from the IFPI Global Music Report 2024.
  • For external use of Premium Content, you will require an IFPI Global Music Report 2024 Premium Content External Use Licence or which a fee of £25,000 excluding VAT is payable. For details about how to purchase an External Use Licence, please contact ritco-licensing@ifpi.org.
